Almora Hudson, the proud owner and president of Heritage Landscapes, brings three decades of experience and dedication to enhancing the landscapes of Marin County. Having joined the family business, initially started by her mother, Janet Gross, Almora has been a vital part of its evolution and success. A Northern California native, her love of the area’s Mediterranean climate and proximity to the ocean and the bay fuel her passion for outdoor living and professional landscape design.
Described by clients as responsive, service-oriented, and adept at solving problems, Almora excels in finding the perfect synergy between the needs of her clients and employees and the landscapes they create and nurture. What sets Heritage Landscapes apart under her leadership is the ability to offer best-in-class services and foster impactful, lifelong relationships with clients, emphasizing mutual communication over typical business transactions. Her favorite aspect of her role is developing her successors, ensuring the business’s growth and continuity for future generations.
Outside of her professional life, Almora is deeply rooted in her community and personal interests. She is a mother of two teenagers, a devoted cat mother, and lives close to her parents, fostering a tight-knit family environment. Her hobbies include spending time in nature, gardening at home, reading, and staying active with workouts at F45. Almora is a conscientious, fair, and exacting leader, committed to continuous learning and enjoyment in her career. She is proud of maintaining and expanding the legacy her mother began while preparing to pass it on to the next generation.
David Gross is the owner and director of Heritage Landscapes and has been transforming spaces into stunning environments across Marin County, Sonoma County, San Francisco, and the East Bay for over 38 years. Born and raised in Northern California, David has a deep appreciation for the community and the area’s natural beauty, which has always been a significant influence in his work. His commitment to excellence is demonstrated by his company’s reputation for quality craftsmanship. This hallmark has earned Heritage Landscapes numerous accolades, including CLCA awards and features in prestigious publications like Sunset and Marin Magazines.
From a young age, David was drawn to the world of landscaping, starting his career at just 15 years old. He is particularly passionate about seeing a concept come to life, guiding it from an initial vision to a tangible, beautiful reality. This process reflects his core business strengths: a full-service approach, prompt and actionable responses, and meticulous attention to detail. Described by clients as honest, caring, and attentive, David ensures that every project meets the high standards for which Heritage Landscapes is known. His leadership style is marked by motivation, passion, and a collaborative spirit, making him a respected figure both within his team and among his clientele.
Outside of his professional life, David is a family man, married with a young son and a beloved bulldog. His interests include various outdoor activities such as golf, basketball, hiking, and swimming, and he has a particular affinity for wildlife, including birds and elks. Proud of his role as a small business owner in Marin County, he is honored to carry on the tradition and values of the family business in partnership with his sister.
